4/21/2016 Lafayette 3, Chillicothe 2 - 8 innings
at Pony Express Tournament - Semi Finals
 
      Lafayette scored in the bottom of the 7th and 8th innings to edge Chillicothe 3-2 in the semifinals of the Pony Express Tournament.
     Chillicothe started with a big second inning when a walk and three singles scored Jace Hicks and Drew Toedebusch off a Tristen Sewell hit.
     Lafayette scored one in the bottom of the third off a walk, a single and a double to cut the score to 2-1. The three innings were a pitchers and defensive duel with walks, errors and hit by pitches put runners on base but neither team brought anyone home until the bottom of the 7th inning.
     Lafayette walked then singled to right field to score one run with one out. A single sandwiched between two outs sent the game to extra innings. Chillicothe started the 8th with a walk but a double play and a ground out ended the top of the 8th quickly.
     Drew Toedebusch came into the game in relief of starter Tristen Sewell. Toedebusch allowed two walks and two singles to score the winning run with one out.
