at NCMC Holiday Hoops
The Chillicothe Hornets played a strong game but came
up short in a 67-63 loss to the North High School Polar Bears
of Des Moines, Iowa at the NCMC Holiday Hoops.
Chillicothe opened strong and built an early 7 point lead.
North High School took a time out and by the time the 1st
quarter was over, North had taken a 2 point lead. Chillicothe
would keep it close but would only lead briefly the rest
of the game.
Mason Hayward hit two free throws to tie the game with
2:22 left, but a basket and four free throws by North gave
them a 6 point lead that Chillicothe could not overcome.
Des Moines North has a high school enrollment of 1297,
compared to Chillicothe's 550.
