(Story by Coach Lance Harvey)
The Lady Hornets soccer team won their 5th straight game with a 4-2 victory over Cameron on Tuesday. The Hornets scored in the first minute of the game when Sarah Graves laid a pass off to Morgan Grable who hit a shot over the goalkeepers head from 20 yards out.
The rest of the half was evenly played and Chillicothe went into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
Cameron tied the game five minutes into the second half but Chillicothe took the lead back a minute later on a corner kick from Josefin Hjelmaeng that was redirected into the goal by freshman defender Kennedie Kieffer, her third of the season.
Thirty seconds later the Hornets added to their lead when Maggie Pfaff beat her defender to the goal and passed to a wide open Sarah Graves who easily beat the Cameron keeper.
Chillicothe conceded another goal but immediately gained it back on a 20 yard free kick by Hjelmaeng that short hopped in front of the keeper and bounced into the back of the net.
The Hornets play next at Savannah on Thursday. Their record now stands at 9-6-1.
