The Chillicothe Girls
Tennis team improved to 2-0 in the young season with a 9-0 sweep at
Cameron. The closest Cameron could come to a victory was 10-6 against the
Lady Hornets #1 singles player Kelly Westphal. Coach Amanda Marsh was happy with the clean sweep victory. "We were very excited to have played well enough to win 9-0. We are hoping this momentum will carry into our match with Marshall on Tuesday." Marsh stated the girls are enjoying the support they are receiving from the community. "We are grateful to those of you who continue to come to the matches to support us. It truly makes a difference" One of the singles victories for Chillicothe came by forfeit in the #6 singles. However, Cameron was able to field three full doubles teams. Chillicothe is off Wednesday then is back in action on Thursday the 27th against perennial powerhouse Marshall Lady Owls. Last year Marshall edged Chillicothe 5 to 4 at Marshall. Thursday's match begins at 4:00pm at Danner Park Courts. |
