Coach Bob Long Says:
The Chillicothe Boys' tennis team (1-1) played their
second closely contested match of the season. After winning
5-4 on Tuesday against Carrollton, the Hornets lost 4-5
Thursday at the hands of the Excelsior Springs Tigers. Junior
Tyler Maasdam and sophomore Grahm Mayers continue to find
things tough in their new role as Hornets number one and two.
Grahm along with fellow sophomore Brenden Nelson won their
second doubles match of the season in as many opportunities.
Brenden is undefeated on the season, winning in singles and
doubles. Junior Matt Callen won his second straight doubles
match with senior partner Gunnar Young, but was unable to get
the singles victory. Gunnar along with teammate Brenden
remains undefeated on the season, winning his singles match
also. The Hornets host Marshall on Tuesday, March 27. |
