The Chillicothe Hornets Girls Golf team (5-0)
participated in the Smith-Cotton Invitational Tournament in Sedalia. The
eighteen team event was played at the Sedalia Country Club. Chillicothe
placed 10th with a score of 410 (Hornets were 10th with a score of 434 in
2016). Notre Dame de Sion won with a score of 309. Megan Propeck of Notre
Dame de Sion was the medalist with a score of 66.
Freshman Hallie Jones turned in the Hornets low score
of 90. Hallie was within four inches (coaches estimate) of a hole in one
on the par three seventh hole. Along with that birdie, Hallie parred holes
one, two and thirteen. Junior Hannah Haakonstad had a score of 102
including pars on holes two and three. Junior Riley Brobst shot a 110
including pars on seven and ten. Senior Jensen Simmer improved on her 118
from 2016 by ten strokes shooting a 108. Jensen had a birdie on the par
three seventeenth hole. Lexi Hargrave shot a 113. |
