Story by Coach Shannon Grable
The Chillicothe Lady Hornets suffered their first defeat of the season to the Smithville Lady Warriors 3-0.
Goals by Smithville’s Kaitlyn Case in the 20th minute put the Lady Warriors up 1-0. Continued pressure by the Warriors produced a 2-0 score when Abby Deanna received a ball from Katelyn Wininger on a perfectly placed cross.
The score would stay 2-0 until the 74th minute. In an attempt to get the ever important 3rd goal of the match, Chillicothe pressed forward when a counter attack produced a goal for Kiersten Darr off the assist from Case. The match ended in a final score of 3-0.
The Lady Hornets fall to 2-1 (0-1 MEC) on the young season.
