3/21/19 Girls Soccer
at Chillicothe 7, Moberly 0

The Lady Hornets continued to make strides in the young season by defeating the Moberly Lady Spartans 7-0. The scoring started early for Chillicothe with a finish by Maggie Pfaff on a corner kick by Sydney Baxter at the 1:02 mark of the game.
The offensive pressure continued as Sarah Graves took a pass from Addie Ficken to make it 2-0 at the 2:44 mark. To not be outdone by her senior counterparts, Lucy Reeter took a through ball from Allison Ishmael to put the freshman in the scoring book at the 7:39 mark to make it 3-0 early in the contest. Moberly was able to settle down a bit and keep the Lady Hornets at bay until the 37:38 mark when Pfaff took an assist from Ishmael to lace one in the far corner to make it 4-0 just before halftime.
Chillicothe opened the second half the way they started the first, with offensive pressure and suffocating defense. Reeter took another ball unassisted this time and made the score 5-0 at the 48:00 minute mark of the game. Graves took a que from the freshman and got a pass from Julia Stimpson to put her 2nd goal of the game in the net to make it 6-0. The score stayed that way until Magy Thomas scored an unassisted sky chicken with 50 seconds left in the contest to make the final score 7-0.
Another solid outing by the defense of Baxter, Dowell, Ross and Lewis. But what canít be forgotten is the stout defense Ficken provides in the midfield for the Lady Hornets. This is the second shutout for the defense and keeper Kennedie Kieffer.
The win brings the Lady Hornets to 2-1 on the young season. Next match is Tuesday at St. Pius with varsity starting at 5:00 pm.
