St Joseph LeBlond at Chillicothe

      The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Volleyball team opened the season with two game home loss to St Joseph LeBlond 16- 25, 17 - 25. Chillicothe had 3 kills each from Heidi McCoy, Devon Crowe and Ashley Myers. Megan Perry had 10 assists.
 

Chillicothe at Savannah

      The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Volleyball team fell to Savannah in straight games 21-25, 14-25. Coach Karen Jackson said the Lady Hornets played a great first game but had "a few crucial mistakes." Heidi McCoy had four kills, three digs and seven service points. Ashley Myers had four kills and five blocks. Kelsey Sewell had two kills and two digs, Holly Williams had two kills and two blocks. Devon Crowe had four blocks and Meghan Perry had two digs and 10 assists.
 

Smithville at Chillicothe

     The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Volleyball team fell at home to Smithville in three games 26-28, 25-22, 17-25. Coach Karen Jackson says her team played a good match. "We fought hard and are starting to play with more consistency." Ashley Myers had seven kills, 13 blocks, 12 digs and five service points. Holly Williams had six kills and 16 digs, Heidi McCoy had four kills, five blocks, 12 service points and one Ace, Meghan Perry had seven blocks, 15 digs and 19 assists, Devon Crowe had six blocks and Kelsey Sewell had 14 digs and one Ace.
 

Platte County at Chillicothe

     It was another case of a well-played loss for the Lady Hornets Volleyball team in a straight games loss to Platte County 17-25, 15-25. Coach Karen Jackson stated "The varsity played well, but was up against a very good opponent. Platte County has a lot of weapons." For the Lady Hornets, Heidi McCoy had five kills, five digs and three service points, Ashley Myers had two kills and eight blocks, Cynda Gear had six digs, Meghan Perry had six digs and nine assists, Holly Williams  had four service points and Kelsey Sewell had three service points.
 

Richmond Invitational

     Chillicothe finished 3rd in the Richmond Invitational tournament
POOL PLAY
     Chillicothe beat Carrollton 26-24, 25-18. Meghan Perry had eight assists, Heidi McCoy five digs and nine service points, Ashley Myers seven blocks and Holly Williams four kills.
      Chillicothe split with Lawson 24-26, 25-18. Meghan Perry had 13 assists, Heidi McCoy seven digs, six kills and nine service points, Ashley Myers seven kills and three blocks and Holly Williams with five kills.
      Chillicothe lost to Grain Valley 19-25, 22-25. Meghan Perry had nine assists, Heidi McCoy with four kills, Ashley Myers with five digs, Holly Williams with six digs and Kelsey Sewell with four digs.
TOURNAMENT PLAY
       Chillicothe lost to Carrollton 22-25, 25-17, 13-15. Meghan Perry had 15 assists, Heidi McCoy nine digs and 12 service points, Kelsey Sewell four digs, Ashley Myers nine kills and ten blocks and Holly Williams nine digs and seven kills.
        Chillicothe beat Grain Valley for 3rd 25-17, 22-25, 15-10. Meghan Perry had 15 assists, Heidi McCoy seven kills and four digs, Devon Crowe with three blocks, Ashley Myers five kills and three blocks, Holly Williams with nine digs and 11 service points and Cynda Gear with eight digs.

     Coach Karen Jackson was pleased with the tournament performance. "It was a great team effort. Everyone played extremely hard and every match was a fight to the end. I'm very proud of all the girls." The team record is now 2-6-1.
 

Chillicothe at St Joseph Benton

     Chillicothe lost in straight games at St Joseph Benton 15-25, 21-25. "We came out flat tonight" commented Coach Karen Jackson. "We struggled with all parts of the game until the middle of the second game, when we had dug too big of a hole to get out of." Heidi McCoy had four kills, six blocks and three digs, Devon Crowe had two kills and seven blocks,  Meghan Perry had six assists and eight blocks, Ashley Myers had six blocks, Holly Williams had four digs and Kelsey Sewell had three digs.
 

Maryville at Chillicothe

     Chillicothe downed Maryville in three games 25-19, 21-25, 25-18. Coach Karen Jackson says her team played very well right from the beginning. "We had a little trouble passing in the 2nd game but came back well to win the 3rd game." Heidi McCoy had nine kills and four digs, Ashley Myers had nine kills and 11 blocks, Holly Williams with six kills, five blocks and 10 digs, Devon Crowe with six blocks and Meghan Perry with 18 assists and four digs.
 

Chillicothe at St Joseph Lafayette

     Chillicothe downed Lafayette in straight games 25-11, 25-16 for their first conference win of the season. Ashley Myers had three kills and two blocks, Holly Williams had two kills and two blocks, Devon Crowe had two blocks, Heidi McCoy with four digs and Meghan Perry with 11 assists. Chillicothe is 1-0 in M.E.C. play and 4-7-1 overall.
 

Chillicothe at Marshall

     Chillicothe fell at Marshall in straight games 25-15, 25-15. "Marshall is a very solid team" commented Chillicothe coach Karen Jackson. "We played like we were intimidated in the first game but came back in the second game to play with more confidence. They just have a lot of weapons." Chillicothe had four blocks from Holly Williams and Ashley Myers, four digs from Heidi McCoy and five assists from Meghan Perry.
 

Chillicothe at Polo

     Chillicothe downed Polo 25-11, 25-17 to improve to 5-8-1. Coach Karen Jackson said her team played a good ,solid, smart first game with everyone contributing. "In the second game we lost focus and made a few mental mistakes." Heidi McCoy had nine kills and eleven service points, Ashley Myers had seven kills and two blocks, Holly Williams had six kills, two blocks and seven service points, Kelsey Sewell had three digs, Cynda Gear had two digs, Devon Crowe had two blocks and Meghan Perry had 21 assists.
 

Chillicothe at Cameron

     Inconsistent play caused Chillicothe a two-game match loss to Cameron 7-25, 21-25. "Cameron couldn't do anything wrong in the first game and we couldn't do anything right" commented Chillicothe coach Karen Jackson. "The second game we played a little better, but not up to our ability." The Lady Hornets were led by Holly Williams with five kills, four blocks and three digs, Heidi McCoy had two kills, four blocks and three digs, Meghan Perry had three blocks and Kelsey Sewell had three digs.
 

Smithville Tournament

     Chillicothe placed 4th in the Northland Tournament in Smithville

Chillicothe beat Lincoln Prep 25-15, 25-15. Meghan Perry with eight assists, Heidi McCoy with three kills and five digs, Ashley Myers with nine service points.
      Chillicothe beat North Platte 25-10, 25-22. Meghan Perry with 14 assists, Heidi McCoy with seven kills and Holly Williams with 10 service points.
      Chillicothe split with Smithville 25-21, 22-25. Individual statistics were not made available
Tournament Play

     Chillicothe lost to Lawson 25-22, 20-25, 10-15. Holly Williams with eight service points, 11 kills and eight digs, Meghan Perry with 21 assists, Ashley Myers with nine digs, five kills and four blocks, Heidi McCoy with eight kills and eight digs, Bradee Gabel with nine digs, Devon Crowe with seven blocks.
      Chillicothe lost to Smithville 23-25, 25-16, 10-15. Holly Williams with nine service points, nine digs and five kills. Meghan Perry with seven service points and 17 assists, Heidi McCoy with seven kills and eight digs, Ashley Myers with 11 digs and five blocks and Devon Crowe with five blocks.

 

Chillicothe at Trenton

     Chillicothe downed Trenton in straight games 25-14, 25-9. Heidi McCoy had five kills and two digs, Holly Williams had three kills, one block and two digs, Ashley Myers had three kills and two digs, Cynda Gear had two digs and nine service points and Meghan Perry had nine assists.

 

St Joseph Lafayette at Chillicothe

     Chillicothe won their second game in two days, beating St Joseph Lafayette at home 25-19, 25-10. Heidi McCoy had 10 kills, Holly Williams had seven kills and six digs, Devon Crowe had four kills and three blocks, Ashley Myers had two blocks, Meghan Perry had 21 assists.

 

Savannah at Chillicothe
     Chillicothe lost to Savannah in two close games 25-20, 25-15. Holly Williams led the Lady Hornets with five kills, give blocks and six service points, Heidi McCoy had seven kills and 11 digs, Ashley Myers had 11 blocks, Devon Crowe had four blocks and Meghan Perry had 13 assists. Chillicothe's record is now 9-12-2 and 1-4 in the Midland Empire Conference. Savannah improves to 10-6-2 overall and

Carrollton Quad

     Chillicothe finished 2nd in the Carrollton Quad. The Lady Hornets beat Carrollton 25-21, 25-16. Heidi McCoy had eight kills and 10 service points, Ashley Myers with eight kills and nine blocks, Holly Williams with six blocks and five digs, Devon Crowe with five blocks, Kelsey Sewell with five digs, and Meghan Perry with six digs and 15 assists.
     Chillicothe beat Braymer 25-14, 25-16.Heidi McCoy with eight kills, Holly Williams with six kills, five digs and 12 service points; Kelsey Sewell with three digs, Meghan Perry with 19 assists and Samantha Figg with 10 service points.
     Chillicothe  fell to Richmond 22-25, 21-25. Heidi McCoy with 17 kills and 17 digs, Devon Crowe with 11 blocks, Ashley Myers with 10 blocks, Holly Williams with 12 digs and 10 service points, Kelsey Sewell with 11 digs and Meghan Perry with 25 assists.
     In the Championship game, Chillicothe lost to Richmond again 11-25, 25-18, 23-25. Heidi McCoy had 12 kills, 12 digs and nine service points, Ashley Myers had six kills, 12 blocks and 10 digs, Holly Williams with four kills and seven digs, Devon Crowe with six blocks, Kelsey Sewell with seven digs and Meghan Perry with 21 assists.

Chillicothe at Maryville

     Chillicothe used a strong attack in the 3rd game to wear down Maryville and win 18-25, 25-21, 25-12. Holly Williams had seven kills, six blocks and 12 service points, Ashley Myers had nine kills, six blocks and eight digs, Heidi McCoy had nine kills and eight digs, Devon Crowe had six blocks, Kelsey Sewell had eight digs and Meghan Perry had 18 assists and nine service points.

Chillicothe at Trenton

     Chillicothe had little problem polishing off Trenton in straight games 25-9, 25-14 to improve to 13-14-2 on the season. Heidi McCoy had seven kills, three digs and 19 service points; Holly Williams had seven kills, Ashley Myers had six kills, Devon Crowe with two blocks, Kelsey Sewell with four digs and Meghan Perry with 19 assists.

St Joseph Benton at Chillicothe

     It took Chillicothe a while but the Lady Hornets beat St Joseph Benton in straight games 25-15, 33-31. "The second game was very exciting" said Lady Hornets coach Karen Jackson. "We didn't play up to our potential in the second game but we played extremely hard and didn't quit." Chillicothe was led by Heidi McCoy with 12 kills and 10 digs, Ashley Myers with nine kills and seven blocks, Holly Williams with 10 digs and 12 service points, Kelsey Sewell with 11 digs, Devon Crowe with five blocks and Meghan Perry with 18 assists.

 

District Tournament at St Joseph Benton

     St Joseph Benton ended Chillicothe's season with a three-game victory in the first round of District Play at Benton High School. Chillicothe took the first game 25-14, struggled in the second game 13-25 and lost a close third game 20-25. Heidi McCoy had seven kills, nine digs and 12 service points, Ashley Myers had six kills, 10 blocks and nine digs, Holly Williams had five blocks, and six digs, Kelsey Sewell had 10 digs and Meghan Perry had 10 assists.

 

Post Season Honors

     The Lady Hornets Volleyball team started out 0-4, but turned into a competitive team by the end of the season to finish 14-15-2. "I was very pleased with the team this year" Coach Karen Jackson told players and fans at the annual Volleyball banquet, stating the team started turning things around in the Richmond Tournament.
     Chillicothe will lose three seniors from this year's team, all three are three-year letter winners. However, five letter winners will return, all of them earning their first letter this season.
     Senior Heidi McCoy was named to the 2007 All-District Volleyball team and  the three Chillicothe Lady Hornet seniors  were named to the Midland Empire Conference team. Holly Williams and Heidi McCoy were named to the first team and Meghan Perry named to the Honorable Mention team. Conference champion Savannah led the first team selections with three.
