The Chillicothe Hornets Boys' Tennis team (4-8) competed in the
Benton Invitational Tournament on Wednesday, May 5. The Hornets
defeated Benton for the second time this season by a slim margin.
Sophomores Gabe Peterson and Shayden Hawkins took an early 4-1 lead,
fell behind 5-8, then eventually won 11-9. Chillicothe lost the
semi-final 0-5 to Savannah and the third place match 1-4 to Trenton.
Savannah won the eight team event. Chillicothe entered as the four
seed and finished fourth. |
