     Chillicothe Hornet sophomore Chace Corbin's season came to an end at the Class 1 state singles tournament in Springfield on Friday. Chace lost to senior Nate Fletcher from Greenwood High School (Springfield) 4-6, 4-6.
     In the consolation bracket Chace played junior Evan Rea from Nevada High School. The result was similar 3-6, 3-6. In the four sets played, Chace had three comebacks that fell short. He was down 1-4 in the first set against Fletcher and was able to bring it back to 4-4, down 0-5 in the second set against both opponents
    Corbin won four games and three games in a row respectively. Chace finishes the season at 19-6 and looks forward to an opportunity to return to state competition in 2022.
