The Chillicothe Golf Team had two players finish in the top ten to help the Hornets win the 12-team Cameron Tournament with a 353. Gallatin was second with a 365.
Coach Jim Wheeler said "In their first tournament of the season, the Chillicothe Hornets boys golf team kept their hot streak alive by winning the Cameron Invitational Tournament today at Veterans Memorial Golf Course.
" Competitors from 12 schools teed off at 9:00 am, when the temperature was 35 degrees and a stiff wind was blowing. The wind did not let up, and the sunshine didn't help warm things up much.
"Two Hornets finished in the top 10 (James Mathew, T-3rd, and Jackson Trout, 7th), while Griff Bonderer, playing the course for the first time ever, placed T-11th.
" I'm proud of the way the players handled the conditions, especially since it was 50 degrees cooler than when they finished the match at Lawson yesterday."
