The Chillicothe Hornets football team turned around their
fortunes with a solid 42-0 homecoming win over Cameron. After
overcoming Cameron's successful game opening on-sides kick
off, the Hornets put Sophomore sensation Silas Midgyett to work,
that ended in a 41 yards 1-play touchdown drive. Max Wagers
PAT made it 7-0.
In the second quarter Brock Miller ended a 49 yards
drive with a 5 yard touchdown. Wagers kick made it 14-0. With
just under a minute left in the first half an 8 play 74 yard
drive ended with 25 yard pass play from Griff Bonderer to
Wagers. The PAT was blocked to make it a Chillicothe 20-0 lead
at the half.
In the 2nd half Cayden Potter ended a 70 yard drive
with a 4 yard run with 1:53 left in the third quarter. Early
in the fourth Bonderer hit Wagers for a 5 yard TD strike.
Javon Kille ran in the two point conversion for a 34-0 lead.
The Hornets made it quick work of the 4th quarter when Silas
Midgyett took the hand off at the 9 yard line, and went
91-yards for the touchdown. Kille ran in the two point
conversion for the final 42-0 win.
Midgyett finished with 13 carries and 204 yards rushing
potter had 8 for48, Kille 6 for 43 Lane Nickell 3 for 16,
Brock Miller 2 for 8 yards and Bonderer 4 for a loss of 4
yards He was 4 for 6 passing for 74 yards, 2 tds and no
interceptions. Wagers had 2 grabs for 30, Ruger Cox 1 for 38
and Midgyett 1 for 6.
Cameron rushed for 180 yards and went 0 for 3 passing.
