An early home run set the stage for Chillicothe 9 to 3 win
over Oak Grove in pool play. Dunn led ff the game with
line drive single to center field. Hope Helton then
homered to left field for an early 2-0 lead.
Oak Grove's pitcher went down when Chillicothe singled and the ball
hit the Pitcher squarely on her shin bone. She left the field
and did not return.
Kinlei Boley in the 2nd inning did what she does best,
sending balls over the fence. The inning began with a Hadley
Beemer single, A Tori Stoner single and a Kirsten Dunn walk. A
Hope Helton walk off the new Oak Grove Pitcher sent one home,
then Boley sent the third pitch for a ride over the left field
fence for a grand slam home run.
The win gave the Lady Hornets a 2-0 record and advanced
to the Gold division of the Medal Round pool play.
