Lady Hornets Softball

. The
Chillicothe Lady Hornets had another good day at the plate,
scoring 13 runs off 13 hits in a 9:00 am home game against
Hannibal, which has yet to win a game this season.
Hannibal started the game strong with a single and a
walk. After two outs the Lady Pirates had two more singles to
make it a 2-0 lead. However, they would have just one more hit
before the game ended.
In the bottom of the first Chillicothe had a single
from Hope Helton then a Kinlei Boley triple would score
Helton. Bonderer singled next to score Boley to tie the game.
In the bottom of the 3rd Kerstin Dunn doubles and after
a strike out Boley singled on a hard ground ball to left field
to score Dunn while Boley advanced to 2nd on the throw and
scored on on a Hannibal error while Bonderer was batting.
The bottom of the 4th was a big inning for the Lady
Hornets, Adra Stretch had a lead off single, Beemer bunts and
reached on an error, Palmer singled to left field to score
one. Stoner bunted into a fielder's choice and Beemer scored
for the Lady Hornets.
Following the first out of the 4th inning, Hope
Helton tripled on a line drive to center field, scoring
Stoner. Next up was Boley who hit a screamer to right field,
setting a new school record for home runs in a season, her
10th to make the score 10-2 after the 6-run Lady Hornets
inning.
Hannibal countered with a run in he top of the 5th off
a single, pop up, ground out and a walk.
Chillicothe finished it off with a three run fifth
inning to invoked the 10-run rule. After a lead off ground
out, Beemer singled to right field, Palmer singled to right
field, Stoner singled to left to score one, Next up was Dunn
with a double to score Palmer and Stoner to end the game. |
