Coach Weston Baker says:
A tough battle -
it looked like we were in the driver's seat after doubles, leading
2-1. Trenton's specialty is in singles, where we dropped 4 in 5
games, giving them the 5 points Trenton needed. The relationship we
have built with Trenton is incredibly positive, and we are honored
that they will be representing us at Sectionals.
As heartbreaking as the loss was, I am beyond proud of this
team's heart, growth, and above all, character. They never gave up
and fought even when the outcome seemed definite. We are graduating
eight seniors this season, seven of which played varsity this year.
The incoming varsity team will need to be ready to face tough
competition not only in the MEC, but our district is growing as
well.
