Story by Coach Grable
They Chillicothe Lady Hornets took on Father Tolton Catholic of Columbia, MO on Wednesday night in the regular season finally.
Early on, Father Tolton looked like the veteran team as they controlled possession and created opportunities to score. Tolton would get on board with a sharp finish past goalkeeper Layla McKinnis to make it 1-0 early. The Hornet defense would stiffen and limit the opportunities going forward. However, late in the first half, Tolton would put some momentum together and increase the lead to 4-0 at the half.
In the second half thought, the Lady Hornets would tighten up the defense once again and limit the chances for Father Tolton. Chillicothe would create it’s own opportunities but just could not find the right combination to crack the code of the Tolton goalkeeper. With an outstanding effort the score would remain 4-0 to the end. The Lady Hornets had chances to get on the board and played a wonderful second half, but just couldn’t break through.
The Lady Hornets finish the regular season 6-11 (3-4 MEC Conference)
