Story by Coach
Sophie Chambers
The lady hornet netters grabbed their first conference
win of the season Tuesday night in Cameron despite two varsity
absences. With Keonnia Morgan and Summer Gatson both out for the
night due to injuries, the CHS coaches asked three JV players to
step up and handle one open singles' slot and two open doubles'
slots in the varsity lineup last night. Not only did all they
players hold their own, every varsity match up won handedly. The
remaining JV players also had a strongly successful night. Coach
Chambers and Coach Pyrtle were proud to see their team be flexible
when playing with totally new partners and when playing a rank or
four above their technical spot. The lady hornets continue their
conference play on Thursday at Danner Park against Benton. Tuesday
night's results were as follows:
Doubles #1 -- Micah Crowe & Jasmine McLean beat Hayley Miller &
Hallie Foster 8-3
Doubles #2 -- Bianca Clark & Keeley Shira beat Braylee Erwin &
Autumn Dotson 8-0
Doubles #3 -- Lexi Lybarger & Lydia Bonderer beat Gracee Spicer &
