Invitational-5th
Chillicothe opened their 2009 season under
new coach Vicki Garrett with a 5th place finish in the Savannah
Invitational. Savannah won the event on a day when temperatures were
in the upper 30s with a 20 mile per hour wind with a 334. Cameron
shot a 341, Lawson a 369, Excelsior Springs a 402, St Joseph Benton
a 433 and St Joseph Lafayette a 434.
Ben Dietz led Chillicothe with an 87, good for
10th place overall. Drew Lowrey shot a 99, Cody Graham a 107, Jake
Mathew a 109 and Trevor Hess a 134.
Chillicothe will compete in the Lafayette Tournament on
Friday, a late addition to the Hornets Golf Schedule.
4/3 Lafayette Tournament-7th
One Chillicothe Golfer had a memorable day in the St Joseph
Lafayette Invitational Golf Tournament. The Hornet's Drew Lowery
nailed a hole-in-one on the 206 yard par 3 16th hole. The Hornets
team finished with a 371, good for 7th out of 11 teams. Ben
Dietz led Chillicothe with an 86, Cody Graham with a 91, Drew Lowery
with a 93, Jake Mathew with a 101 and kale Allen with a 112. Derek
Baade of Savannah shot a 1-under 71 for medalist honors.

Chillicothe finished
19th out of 22 golfers in the tough
Richmond Invitational. Park Hill South won the event with a 313,
Pembroke Hill was 2nd with a 316 and Liberty 3rd with a 325.
Chillicothe shot a 370. Three golfers tied for medalist honors,
shooting 3-over par 74s. For Chillicothe: Ben Dietz 40/44 - 84, Cody
Graham 49/42 - 91, Drew Lowrey 48/46 - 94, Jake Mathew 50/51 - 101,

District Tournament - 10th
The Chillicothe Hornets only managed a
10th place finish out of 11 teams in District Golf at Platte City.

The Chillicothe Hornets finished 7th in
the MEC Golf Tournament at Fairview Golf Course in St Joseph. St

Two awards were presented at the annual
Boys Golf Banquet. Coach Vicki Garrett presented the Roger Cranmer
Outstanding Golfer Award to Ben Dietz with a 43.21 season average.
The Coaches Award which goes to the player who has displayed loyalty
to his teammates and to the coach and based on team spirit, playing
ability and attitude went to the lone senior on the 6-player team,
Cody Graham. |
