The Cameron Lady Dragons had 20 points out of their
freshman post player to beat Chillicothe 45-43 in the
consolation semifinals of the Cameron Tournament.
Cameron shot just 8 of 17 at the free throw line in the
fourth quarter, but Anna Curtis hit two with 13 seconds left
to give Cameron a 4 point lead. Chillicothe hit a shot with 3
seconds left but could not steal the inbounds pass.
The lady Dragons hit a trey to end the first quarter
with a six point lead, the biggest of the night. Chillicothe
opened the second with a 10-0 run as part of a six minute
stretch that held Cameron scoreless. The Lady Hornets led by 1
at the half and was down by just two heading into the fourth
quarter before being bit once again by the turnover bug in the
fourth quarter. |
