Chillicothe allowed more than 20 points in the first
quarter for the second straight game, losing at Maryville
62-21 in a conference game. The Lady Hornets managed just two
free throws in the first quarter, and a trey and a basket in
the second quarter to train 41-7 at intermission. The 21
points is the fewest since scoring just 19 against Savannah in
2007.
Maryville used balanced scoring, a full court
press and sound basketball skills to pick apart Chillicothe.
The Lady Spoofhounds opened up the game on a 14-0 run and
Chillicothe was never again closer than 12 points the rest of
the game, trailing by as many as 43 points in the fourth
quarter.
Chillicothe lost starting Senior Kelsey Hicks
early in the 2nd quarter due to a problem with her knee.
