Chillicothe fought through two starters fouling out and an
ample supply of whistles to beat Marshall 53-49. Chillicothe
trailed all of the first half and most of the third quarter
before taking their first lead with 1:24 left in the third.
Marshall came back to tie it up but the Lady Hornets retook
the lead with 41 seconds left in the third quarter and held on
for the win.
Chillicothe started slow but made up for it with a 21
point third quarter. Both teams had to fight thorough fouls
and free throws, with a combined total of 50 fouls called and
65 free throws shot, with Marshall hitting 14 of 26 and
Chillicothe 18 of 39 at the free throw line.
Marshall closed the game to 2 points late in the game,
but Chillicothe's Maddy Williams hit two free throws with 2
seconds left to secure the Lady Hornet victory.
