The Chillicothe Lady
Hornets built a lead in the first quarter then hung on to beat
Macon 55-46 on the road and improve to 4-3. Chillicothe led by
6 after one and by seven at the half.
The Lady Hornets led by 15 midway through the third
quarter, but saw the lead cut to just three points in the
fourth quarter, three separate times. Each time the Lady
Hornets answered with points to hold the lead.
Macon had the lead down to three with the basketball
but late baskets by Sophomore Maggie Graves kept the Macon
Tigerettes at bay. Sarah Baldwin led the Lady Hornets with a
22 point performance, and point guard Maddy Williams chipped
in 11 points.
The one downfall in the game came in the third quarter
when Chillicothe Crysten Lollar went down with an apparent
left ankle injury after scoring her second basket in the game.
She did not return, and the severity of the injury is not
known.
