Call it good defense, call it cold shooting, but
Kirksville calls it a 38-34 win at Chillicothe. The Lady
Hornets fought back from a double digit deficit in the third
quarter to close it to with in four points in the fourth
quarter, but got no closer.
The two teams traded leads and tie ups most of the
first half, with Chillicothe up by one point at intermission.
Kirksville closed the second quarter on a 4-0 run and started
the third on a 10-0 run to go from down by 5 to up by 9 before
Chillicothe got on the board in the third quarter.
The Lady Hornets scored with 5:29 left in the game to
close the gap to four points, but neither team would score the
rest of the game.
Chillicothe lost to virtually the same team last year
in Kirksville 65-29. The Lady Tigers returned 7 of their top 8
players from last year. |
