The Chillicothe Lady Hornets hit 4 of 6 free throws in
the final 46 seconds to secure a 44 to 41 win over LeBlond in
the consolation semifinals of the Cameron Girls Tournament.
For Chillicothe, it was a tale of two halves. The Lady
Hornets led by 18 late in the second quarter and held
LeBlond scoreless until the final minute of the quarter to
take a 29-15 lead into the locker room. However, it was LeBlond
with the hot hand in the second half, holding Chillicothe to
just three points in the third quarter.
LeBlond took a one point lead with 3:44 left in the
game, but moments later the Lady Hornets hit one free throw,
grabbed the rebound off the second free throw attempt and
scored to take a 2 point lead with 3:30 left in the game. The
Lady Hornets would lead the rest of the game.
Chillicothe will play Friday at 6:00pm for the
consolation trophy.
