Smithville used sound shooting to pull away from
Chillicothe early and cruise to a 65-38 win at Smithville.
Chillicothe scored the first basket in the game but Smithville
scored the next nine points and led the rest of the game.
Chillicothe hit back to back baskets after the 9-0 run
to close it to four points, but another 9-0 run by Smithville
gave them a 13 point lead and they led by double figures the
rest of the game, outscoring Chillicothe in every quarter.
Smithville had just one senior on their roster that
didn't start, the rest were a mixture of talented freshmen,
sophomores and juniors that showed excellent basketball skills
in all aspects of the game.
For the Lady Hornets, they were led again by
Maddie Williams with 17 points. Freshman Samantha Baldwin saw
her first varsity playing time of the season and contributed 4
points. |
