Chillicothe suffered for the second straight game, falling to
St Joseph Benton 53-21. Chillicothe started out ice cold,
picking up their first points 10 minutes and 3 seconds into
the game.
The scoring came seldom through the entire game for
Chillicothe, who according to official statistics, shot just 4
of 35 from the floor, or 11.4% for the game.
Benton had a strong second quarter thanks to hot
outside shooting, hitting six treys in the game. The Lady
Cardinals also used a stiff defense to force awkward shots,
tie-ups and turnovers during the game. Chillicothe managed
just one field goal in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters, plus a
trey in the fourth. The other 12 points came from the free
throw line.
With the Benton 53-21 win, both teams are now 10-11 on
the season and 1-2 in MEC play.
